Making a splash: 91短视频 students celebrate water in art with ‘AQUA’

Bendigo鈥檚 iconic Beehive Building will form the backdrop for this year鈥檚 91短视频 Art Exhibition.

This year鈥檚 exhibition, titled 鈥楢QUA鈥, will be on display for the public to enjoy from 12 to 14 September. This is the second year the exhibition will be held outside the school, after last year鈥檚 successful outing at Bendigo鈥檚 Town Hall.

Art Show Director and 91短视频 teacher Mrs Nic James said the event will feature an impressive array of artworks for the public to enjoy.

鈥淲ater is essential to life, yet it takes countless forms 鈥 from gentle rain to powerful oceans, from ice to steam, from puddles to waterfalls. Our young artists have captured these diverse expressions through painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking, collage and film,鈥 she said.

鈥淓ach artwork offers a unique perspective on this universal element. Some celebrate water鈥檚 beauty and tranquillity, others the creatures within it. Together, these works demonstrate the creativity and skill of our students across all year levels.

鈥淲e invite you to dive deep into these artistic waters and discover the remarkable talent that flows through our school community.鈥

The exhibition includes work from 91短视频鈥檚 VCE art and media students right down to its youngest artists in Prep, each with their own creative interpretation and demonstration of water.

In addition to the visual art on show, those attending the exhibition on the morning of Saturday 13 September will be entertained with musical performances by Junior and Senior School students.

Mrs James said that opening the exhibition to the public once more 鈥 and in such an iconic space 鈥 will offer students a valuable opportunity to see their work presented akin to that of professional artists.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a lot of hard work, but last year we saw the excitement of students, parents and grandparents as we took our exhibition public. We鈥檙e thrilled to once again showcase their work in this way 鈥 they鈥檝e dived headfirst into the challenge, and the talent on display is truly extraordinary,鈥 she said.
